New York: Urge Gov. Hochul to sign the Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill
UPDATE: Both houses of the New York Legislature overwhelmingly passed the Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill, and now it heads to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk.
Please join us in urging Gov. Hochul to sign this important, lifesaving legislation that will stop the sale of puppy mill puppies, kittens and bunnies in pet stores across the state and protect New York families.
The Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill will drive the pet market toward more humane sources by shutting down the pipeline from puppy mills to pet stores and prohibiting the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in pet stores. New York consumers will no longer be duped into buying a puppy mill puppy from a pet store. They’ll be protected from the risk of high veterinary bills resulting from purchasing a sick puppy and the heartbreak that comes with having a pet suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. New Yorkers will still be able to get the pet of their choice from shelters and responsible breeders.
Please call Gov. Hochul today and ask her to sign the Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill. Call 518-474-8390. You can say: "As your constituent, I am calling to ask you to please sign the Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill, A.4283/S.1130, to stop the sale of puppy mill puppies in New York pet stores."
After making your call (please do not skip that crucial step!), fill in and submit the form below to send a follow-up message.
