Act now to protect horses!
Crucial protections for horses are one step closer to the finish line and we need your help to get the job done. The Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act, to end inhumane horse slaughter, and the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act, to end the deliberate infliction of severe pain on the legs and hooves of some show horses, will soon be up for a full committee vote, bringing both bills one step closer to a vote on the House floor.
The time to act is now because YOUR Representative is a member of the committee that will soon be deciding on whether the SAFE and PAST Acts get voted out of committee. We need you to contact your U.S. Representative and urge them to vote YES in the Energy and Commerce Committee for both crucial horse protection bills with no weakening changes or amendments.
Horses have been our loyal companions for centuries. We owe it to them to do all we can to pass these important bills that will provide crucial protections to thousands of horses.
TAKE ACTION
Please make a brief, polite phone call to your U.S. Representative who sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee and urge them to support both the PAST and SAFE Acts. You can find their contact information here. You can simply say, “As a constituent and someone who cares about horses, I urge you to vote in favor of both the PAST Act (H.R. 5441) and the SAFE Act (H.R. 3355) – and oppose any weakening amendments – in the upcoming Energy and Commerce Committee votes.”
