Support legislation to protect horses!
Horses have been our loyal companions throughout history, and it's our responsibility to protect them from abuse. That's why we need your help to get co-sponsors for two vital horse protection bills in Congress: the Save America's Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act and the Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act.
The SAFE Act would permanently ban archaic and unwanted domestic horse slaughter from happening in the U.S. again and stop the notoriously brutal and inhumane export of American horses for slaughter. The PAST Act would end the deliberate, cruel infliction of severe pain on the legs and hooves of some show horses, known as "soring", and promote compassionate care and humane treatment for these amazing animals. Both of these bills will protect tens of thousands of horses from exploitation and abuse and we need YOUR help to ensure strong bipartisan support when they’re reintroduced in Congress—so please ACT NOW!
TAKE ACTION
Please make brief, polite phone calls to your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators now, urging them to co-sponsor both the PAST and SAFE Acts. You can find their contact information here. You can simply say, “As a constituent and someone who cares about horses, I urge you to co-sponsor both the PAST Act and the SAFE Act when they’re reintroduced, to protect horses from abuse, and resist any amendments that could weaken these crucial protections.”
