Wichita: Urge your city council to prohibit the sale of puppy mill puppies in pet stores!
The Wichita City Council is considering a humane pet store ordinance that would prohibit the sale of puppy mill puppies in pet stores. Public records show that Wichita pet stores import puppies from puppy mills with awful animal welfare records, where there is little concern for the health and wellbeing of the animals. Families who purchase animals from stores are often burdened with pet health problems that can cost thousands of dollars in veterinary visits or lead to a lifetime of medical complications.
Tell your city council that selling puppies in pet stores is inhumane and supports puppy mills. Wichita residents will still be able to get the dog of their choice from shelters, rescues and responsible breeders.
Please call your Wichita City Council today and ask them to support a humane pet store ordinance to stop the sale of puppy mill puppies in pet stores. Call 316-268-4331. You can say: "As your constituent, I am calling to ask you to please prohibit the sale of puppy mill puppies in Wichita pet stores."
