Oregon: Urge your state senator to end the sale of cosmetics tested on animals
Rabbits, mice, rats and guinea pigs continue to suffer and die in experiments to test cosmetics like lipstick, deodorant and shampoo. H.B. 3213 will help end this unnecessary cruelty by banning the sale of animal-tested cosmetics in Oregon.
Alternatives to animal testing already exist: Humane, safe cosmetics can be made using thousands of existing ingredients, and several non-animal methods are already available to test new ingredients. These advanced scientific technologies are often cheaper, faster and more relevant to humans, and therefore more reliable predictors of safety than archaic animal tests.
Help bring Oregon in line with more than 30 countries and 10 states, including California, Nevada and New York, that have already banned the sale of cosmetics newly tested on animals. Companies that sell cosmetics in those countries and states are already using non-animal methods to test their products and ingredients.
