Pledge not to buy a ticket to a marine mammal show
In the wild, dolphins can travel up to 80 miles a day at speeds of almost 20 miles per hour. Orcas are large, intelligent creatures that thrive in social pods. Life in a tank causes stress and neurotic behaviors, such as swimming in endless circles.
In the United States and around the world, marine mammals are still suffering in performing shows and entertainment displays. Touch tanks and "swim with" activities result in intelligent, social creatures being kept in captivity without adequate living space or sufficient interaction with other marine life. Often, these conditions can also lead to illness and other physical maladies for the animals.
YOUR PLEDGE
I pledge not to support captive marine mammal shows.
I pledge to avoid shows and other entertainment that exploit captive marine mammals, and will instead look for opportunities to support real conservation efforts and witness these animals in the wild.
