Urge Petland to stop selling puppies and surrender the sick dogs at their Novi, Michigan store immediately
During our most recent undercover investigation at a Petland store in Novi, Michigan hidden cameras captured sick puppies, questionable veterinary care and unsafe conditions. Several ailing puppies were sent back to their breeders, to unknown fates, instead of being given proper treatment. This investigation is just the latest of several as we work to expose Petland's cruelty. The national chain of pet stores (the last national chain to still sell dogs) has been linked to the cruel puppy mill industry.
There are thousands of puppy mills—mass-breeding operations where mother dogs spend their entire lives in cramped cages—across the country being supported by pet stores like Petland. Due to poor sanitation and a lack of quality veterinary care, sick animals are sent home with unsuspecting consumers, breaking the hearts of families excited to welcome their new best friend.
Our undercover investigators have witnessed overcrowded cages and documented puppies suffering from vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, seizures and other conditions.
There’s no question that the animals who spend their last days in a Petland store are not treated with compassion, which is why we're asking you to join us in urging Petland to go humane by no longer selling puppies.
